CatchM3 Build Thread

Just joined the site. I've done a good bit of research. I have an idea of how i want it to be but i like function over form as long as the look is clean. In north Ga there isn't a lot of places to do a lot of heavy wheeling. Im more about some trail rides than trying to get it stuck in some mud, but i'd like to be prepared. So this is my build. When i got it, it had 4 flat bald tires, side swiped from the passenger side, driver fender is caved in right next to the marker light, scuffed up flares and cladding, and a bent running board, and supposedly a bad starter.

1997 4Runner Limited Natural White with 168000 - cheap
4 used 265/60r16 - free from my brother in-law
front brake pads with 90% - free from a co worker
charged the battery
removed the running boards
8 cans of plasti dip - $48

LC 8 wraps
Fat Bob's Garage 3 inch front spacer
Spider trax wheel spacers?
285/75r16 all terrains?
265/75r16? mud terrains
255/85r16? i cant decide between the 3
A new fender and the dents removed from the passenger doors
Roof Rack for Hauling
Rear bumper with integrated hitch
Addicted Offroad front bumper w/ a winch
rear locker. (which ever one comes easily E-locker ARB or an Aussie, preferably the e-locker if i can get one for the right price.)
On-Board Air
and to fix the Pioneer dvd nav system so i can see the screen it came with the set up but it has no display its just the back light but thats the least of my worries

That thing has seen better days, but it sounds like you have a good plan going. I'd suggest not doing the spacer if you can. 5100's and Toytec Eibach coils are great together and not too expensive. I went with 265's because I didn't want to lose much power or mileage. Your choice though. That was a good deal and hopefully it's 4wd.

yeah it is 4WD. I was def taking a risk in buying it especially with it not running. but im gonna do the spacer for now. we just had a baby so once my wife goes back to work and we have two incomes and back on our feet ill be able to afford the sorano steel lift and 285s. thats my goal but for now stock just isnt enough.

PICS! adn update.

Update: i called and ordered my lc coils on Thursday. the people called on Friday and were very friendly but had bad news that the coils were no longer available and their inventory was incorrect. so a little bummed i started searching again and found a post by mateostyle. got in touch with him and he shipped me two lc 7.5 wraps Friday afternoon. hopefully ill get those in sometime soon and get my front ordered im hoping to find a set of used tundra coils but its doubtful for the money i have left to spend.

I just received my magnaflow 18" muffler today. I will be dropping my 4runner off in the morning to have it installed.

I dropped it off this morning to have the magnaflow 18" installed. I won't bother posting a phone video of sound. But I will say it's quiet, however you know it's there. I recorded an in cab video with the windows up you hear it, but with the windows up you can faintly hear it. There's more road noise and traffic noise that over powers the sound. Overall I'm very pleased with it.
