New Trail T4R Owner - Questions

First of all... I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. I've spent many hours pouring over the information in these forums, resulting in my purchase of a 2012 4Runner Trail Edition, Magnetic Gray Metallic with KDSS and nav. Thanks for all of the great info!

Now, I'm quite familiar with the search functionality, and I promise I've poured through many threads before asking. That being said... I have a couple of questions.

• What are some "must have" accessories for new Trail T4R owners?
• Are there any rails that have little to no effect on ground clearance?
• I have a 70lb yellow lab who LOVES car rides. Any recommendations on cargo area protection that also minimizes pet slipping & sliding? (Keeping in mind the slide out cargo tray.)
• I'd decided that I loved the Gobi Stealth rack before getting my Trail, but what would be the best roof/hitch setup for hauling my kayaks and bikes when camping?
• I'd also decided that I loved the Gobi ladder... has anyone mounted one of these on their 2012? If so, any issue with rubbing/scratching the paint? Are there other options?
• What is recommended for cleaning and maintaining the weatherproof seats/material in the Trail T4Rs?

I'm sure I'll have more as the time passes... but so far my first week with "Dusty" has been awesome.

  Sliders have very minimal effect on ground clearance. Check out Shrockworks or Budbuilt: Had I seen the bump outs with full treadplating from Budbuilt (as seen on RiDE's rig) I would have probably went with them over shrockworks. (still love my shrockworks though)

  Canvasback Cargo Liner: Don't have one yet, but multiple people on here can vouch for them. I do plan on getting one soon though.

  Haven't had anything spill on them yet, so haven't had to deal with this. I plan on getting Wet Okoles as soon as I have some of my other mod list priorities fulfilled.

I'd like to 2nd FactoryRide's comment about the Canvasback liner. I have a 2012 and two Golden Retrievers that love to ride, so this is a MUST for keeping fur out of your carpet.

Depends. Is the truck going to see a lot of offroad use? If you're going to do a lot of rock crawling you'll want to look at a full set of skid plates to replace the flimsy factory ones (though they're still better than nothing) and probably some proper all-terrain tires.

I am looking at the exact same color trail with the exact options. One of the first things I plan to do is a leather upgrade on front and rear (katskins) and weatherTech floor mats, then I will move on to, Downtech ST-800 push button start and alarm, lift, tires and wheels.

Congratulations on your new TE. Great looking ride. I'm expecting to take delivery of my TE within the next couple of weeks. If you don't mind me asking, what brand tires came with your TE, the Dunlops or the Duellers?

Mine came with the Duelers. I'm already considering some replacement A/T tires.
