Hi all,
99' Limited V6 4x4 with 280k on the clock. Just barely "flushed" the fluid out, meaning I drained it via the trans cooler a few quarts at a time and filled it. Filled with Valvoline Dex/Merc fluid, also did the filter change while I was in there.
I changed it because it was clunking from 1st to 2nd change and the fluid was awful looking. Now though, I get a completely intermittent clunk. Today I drove 40 minutes with at least two dozen times of needing to reverse and it never clunked. Then just now when pulling into the drive and putting it in reverse, BAM!! Massive lurch. When on the road it shifts fine and shifts up and down all gears without issue. Motor mounts are fine.
Anyway, anyone think it's the Valvoline fluid itself? Anyone have issues like this after a fluid change?
