But I had to have that bad ass genuine, simulated, imitation, glare producing hood scoop! And a transfer case shifter!!!!!
CplTurner, I just finished a 1300 mile round trip with about 600 pounds of gear and my large self (scaled at 5480 with a full tank). I have the Bilstein 5100 leveling kit set at 1.75" front on factory springs. In the middle of the trip I added about 150 pounds of front bumper and winch. Since then I have returned 450 miles to work in south Texas. The ride is softer, but not radically so. I have decided to add a pair of 2" OME medium springs on the front to offset the additional weight up there, and I will be resetting the Bilsteins to either 0 or .85 to allow for the added spring length. I am still debating whether I will add any more spring in the back yet. I would still be perfectly comfortable overlanding or doing anything up to moderate 4 wheeling with this setup. My recommendation would be to get your accessories first, load it up, and take it on a couple trips. THEN decide if you need to do anything to the suspension.
PS: I do not believe the TRD Bilstein shocks that are installed on the TRD Pro have the adjustment setup that the standard 5100's have. I believe they are already designed to accept more lift and wheel travel and the remote reservoirs allow them to be worked harder, but I don't think they are designed for varied height adjustment ala the 4 notch setup of our current 5100's. Of course I could be wrong.
