New unkown tires

Just picked up these for my new sons TR4. They look pretty aggressive but don't have much info on them. Figured I wouldn't lose much money if they suck. They are 285/70/17 Thunderer's. Let me know if any of you have ever heard of them. Oh, I got all for 500.

The look a lot like the deestone mud clawers that A_HuL had for a brief period.

I believe he didn't really like anything about them other than aggressiveness and price. Maybe he can comment.

Yeah i had Deestone Mud Clawers and they were literally the exact same tire. I had 265/70/17 and my buddy has 37" Nitto Mud Grapplers on his hummer and im not exaggerating at all but mine were as loud if not louder than his. I kinda liked it at first but it got old. They wear like crap, dont last long, but the price is great. I would rotate and balance ever 2000 miles and not every oil change because if you dont you are going to be in for a crappy ride wont be able to get them to wear how they should. For $500 you got a good deal but just take care of them to try to get the most life out of em. Hope this helps

I figured they wouldn't be the best on tread wear. Just by looking at them I can tell they are a lot softer rubber than some of my higher end mudders. They look cool and that was pretty much what I was going for. If I get at least 24k out of them that literally is 2 years for 500. I can't complain about that. The noise wont bother me or my son cause you normally don't hear anything going on outside of the truck cause his stereo system. Thanks for all the feedback tho. Happy New Year.
