New Weathertech Floor Liners arrived

I have to make a comment about weather tech’s customer service. It sucks.

Since I have the 3rd row seating, I need to cut the second row liners to fit around the step block. Given that these are expensive liners I did not want to pay this kind of money to have to “fit” the liners. Anyway I called weather tech and they could not help at all. They could not tell me what needed to be cut, how much needed to be cut nor could they give my any dimensions so I could figure it out myself. No help at all. I then sent them an email asking for specifics and asking about their return policy should I decide I don’t want to cut the liners. They never even responded. Not even an automatic reply. What kind of customer service is this? My rule is, I don’t do business with companies that can’t respond to customer inquiries.

I sent an email to Husky with the same question and they sent me a response with dimensions, explained the fit and even attached a picture showing how their liners fit. Now that is customer service. Just who I bought my new liners from?
 
I ordered straight from Weathertech, paid full price :barf: and had them in 2 weeks.

The price is nuts, and I held off a long time because of that but in the end I'm extremely happy with the product. The Grey matches my interior perfectly and doesn't show the dirt much. They are withstanding my family's messiness very well.
 
Has anyone tried the husky liners?

I had the floor liner for my second row in a 1997 Ford Explorer Sport (2 door model) and I was really impressed with the fit and finish.

2005 4runner Husky Liner

The only thing that I can see that might be a bit better about the Husky Liners is that the second row liner goes under the front seats a bit for more protection. However the previous owner has dvd screens installed in the headrests so i have a bunch of hardware under the drivers seat and that wouldn't help me.

Personally after comparing the two I think the weathertech have a more luxurious look to them. Husky Liners have the faux aluminum diamond plate finish and the weather techs utilize the factory mat clips for the driver to keep them in place.

Any other feedback on owners with 3rd row seating? I'd like to pick up a liner for the 2nd row- but I'd like it to fit properly!
 
Weather Tech liners

Color quandary - Gray or Black Weather Tech liners
'08 4Runner Sport 4x4 V8
Ext: Salsa Red
Int: Gray carpet, gray/blk seats, blk accessories including console
Cannot tell if the gray liners are lighter than the carpet color. Black liner may clash a bit. Suggestions? Liner color preferences welcomed?

Go with black, I'd rather contrast with black than possibly end up with mismatched or multiple tones of grey.

Like many have said... the gray is almost an exact match to the factory gray panels. I couldn't decide between the black or the gray, but ordered the gray and I'm really glad that I did! They look great and they hide a lot of crap.

Just food for thought.

Weathertech floor liners was one of the first, and best, investments I've made in my 4Runner. I just wish the liner for the cargo area held it's shape better.

Thanks for this tip! I've been holding off on ordering these but this pushed me over the edge. If you are ordering both the 1st and 2nd rows, it saves you $5 additional dollars ordering them individually vs the combo pack. Go figure. I just placed my order for both 1st and 2nd row (I already have a Husky cargo liner) and the total came to $140.23 shipped. Sounds like a pretty good deal for these...

I have the Husky liners and overall I am very pleased with them. They fit well and do a great job at keeping the carpet clean. They can be “squeaky” when wet and yes the Weather Tech liners have a more custom look so they are a bit nicer looking. But the Husky liners are a few $$ cheaper.

The Husky’s have hundreds of nibs on the bottom to keep them in place and I have yet to have them move or shift around. One thing I did with the Husky’s was to remove some of the nibs where the liners rested on any of the plastic interior parts and also on the sides where the nibs stuck out. Another thing with the Husky’s is that they have about a 1 to 1 1/2 inch lip where they meet the doors. This is not a problem but it does sit up kind of high so the kids tend to step on this when getting in / out.

Cleaning the back liner can be a challenge. Since its one solid piece you can’t pull it out to dump off the crud without spilling it all over the place. So you need to vacuum it before you pull it out to wash it. But this would be an issue for any liner that is one solid piece.

Both the Weather Tech and Husky are good liners. For those of us with the 3rd row I would recommend the Husky's as they fit without cutting. I have heard that once you cut the Weather Tech liners they tend to roll up or curl. Plus the customer service at Husky was much better then Weather Tech, IMHO.
