Newb radiator question

In preparation for changing my radiator later this week, Id like to ask a newb question. I bought the concentrated coolant that needs to be mixed with water.

When filling the new radiator, do I have to mix the coolant/water before filling it up, or do I put some coolant in, then some water, and alternate until it's full and let the circulation of the fluid mix it?

You can let it mix in the radiator. I usually put half the jug in, then fill it back up with water and put that in, then top up with water. It will take about two jugs total.

You can mix in the rad, it takes 3gallons total so 1 1/2 of each. I recommend using distilled water, and replace the thermostat as well. If you have any questions about how to do anything or run into any problems just pm me. I just got done replacing mine and my tranny after the pink milkshake disaster.

Thanks to all who helped - just got the new radiator installed. To whoever suggested using sharpies to plug the transmission lines, you're a life saver! It worked like a charm.

I found the most difficult part to be removing the d*** skid plate, but everything else went smooth. Props to Toyota for designing a car that's relatively easy to work on.

To keep it from corroding and the pink milkshake always follow the rules of distilled and the correct type of fluid.

I have a 6 gallon water jug that I use to use for camping. I fill it with equal parts Toyota coolant and distilled water. Haven't had to top it off in the last year, except for maybe a pint or so. The radiator didn't hold all that I mixed initially (2 gallons coolant, 2 gallons distiller water), so I still have just under a gallon mixed in the water jug. What is leftover in the jug I will just use when I change the coolant again.
