Newbee, Just bought 2009 V8 and have ?, thank you / exhaust

Hello, sorry if this is old subject, but I am failing to find solid reference to what I am looking to accomplish. I have just bought 2009 v8 SR5 4runner and I would love to get some kind of cat-back for it.

Goal: Need to get exhaust replacement for 2009 V8 SR5 4runner

Problem: I can not find one site that lists 2009 year for their offerings.
Can anyone help?

The 2009 is going to be the same exhaust as 2003-2008. I have just a Magnaflow muffler cut off underneath right by the rear axle, it doesn't drone at all, sounds great and it only cost me $150. I would highly recommend it, it is not loud but has a little rumble, gas mileage actually went up a .5mpg. I did not add it for mileage but just for a little rumble, you cannot hear it at idle really. I think the stock pipe coming out the back looks terrible, I had the stock pipe cut off before the exhaust, looks good with a hidden exhaust and it no longer gets pinched offroad.

Thank you very much. I simply could not find anything listed for 2008-09, all parts were for up to 2007.

My goal is to add little to sound and any power increase that comes with is great.

Highly recommend the magnaflow cat back. I had to drop my spare tire to make room to get to stock pipe out. Sounds great, quiet at idle and on highway- but floor it and wow! Got mine from autoanything.com they had great prices on both the exhaust and shipping. V-6 and V-8 are the same part number.

If one was a brand snob, would Magnaflow be premium brand or economy choice?


Back in my young days, I did follow performance stuff with my Mazda RX7 3rd gen, so I got educated on good stuff vs other stuff. I am simply asking for "who makes quality stuff".

Well since you came from an FD you should know some good brands. if you want the most power you want a strait though exhaust. magnaflow, borla, aero turbine are all very good. depends on what you want and how much you want to pay for it. you can custom make one for less than $150. the cat back of the magnaflow is $566 and the borla is anywhere from $600-900.

Best thing, performance wise, I did was jigsaw off the stock muffler and that stupid resonator. Do it.....what ever muffler brand you chose. It's worth it. Yeah it's a little louder, and roars when you step on it, but it sounds so good! Let me know if you want pics of what I did.

Back in Mazda days images were easy to come by, so decisions sometimes did follow what looked good to eye.

Magnaflow is not the "economy" exhaust; Borla is good but just because it is more expensive doesn't mean it is any better or sounds any better. The flowmaster would be the "economy" way to go seeing as they lost their patent and had to lower their price and they are known to rust out, especially if you take it offroad.

Excuse me, I did not know this; but regardless the info "HE" needed was correct, which was the '09 being the same as the '06-'08

Oh, my rubber piece did break almost 2 months into using this exhaust. Luckily I had extra one left from original Toyota exhaust to use. In honesty original rubber carrier is much nicer from Borla one. More flexible and seems to be made to last. Anyhow, great sound, and i love the look of it.

Just saw this.

No custom work- that's how it comes!

Less rear window stink, but it's still there at certain speeds. I only run the rear window down if the dog is riding in the back.
