Hi guys,
I have recently picked up my first 4runner, everything is running well engine wise except that the turbo warning light comes on and off intermittently. I drove the car 350 miles home with no issues, the day after on a short journey the turbo warning light came on for a few minutes then went off. A couple of times since the light has stayed on for a minute or so after first starting and driving and has come on once or twice whilst driving.
The manual states the warning light is to signal when there is a problem with the gas build up in the turbo...I have checked for obvious leaks on the inlet side and everything seems ok. There is no smoke from the exhaust and the engine pulls well with no change in performance when the light comes on. It does require a service as both the oil and the water look dirty so I will be doing this as soon as the oil etc I ordered arrives
Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this issue before I have to take it to a garage to be investigated?
