Newbie From CO - Looking for some armor

Hey guys!

So here is some background: My first rig was a '91 toyota pickup that had 165k, I had picked it up off of a guy that had let it set for about 5 years because of a blown head gasket. Eventually i got him to let go of the truck (original owner) and away i went. Through my time owning it i put on 2" of body lift and 3" on the suspension, then I slapped on some 33x14.50 **** Cepek FCIIs and a westin bull bar for a newgen tacoma. near the end of her life the crankshaft gasket ruptured and caused it to leak about a quart of oil a week. i sold it with just over 200k to someone who could fix her up!

Now after a year and a half battle with a p.o.s. mazda I decided to sell it and decided to go back to the 4x world (where i really belong). I just picked up my mom's 2000 Limited with locker, that she has owned since new! I'm putting on some 265/75/16 Duratracs hopefully in the next week and then an ome 3" in the near future.

I'm also looking for some armor options, i'm really liking the shrockworks front and rear plate bumpers, but i'm not crazy on the prices. so are there any similar options that will help with not breaking the bank?

Sorry for your hard welcome. I'm sure some people are busy with crap over the holidays, I know I am. Also I don't know if you posted in the 3rd gen specific section, that would probably give you a quicker reply as it is only people with the same model as your truck.
To answer your question pretty much anything will be cheaper and quicker than shrockworks. They are expensive and take a long time to ship out. The quality is outstanding but I wouldn't go for them personally. There are a lot of options out there so take a look at this list! Bumper List. Prices aren't on the list but if you find one you like just call or go to their website and price it out with what you want on it. Depending on hoops, coating, light mounts, lights, swing outs, can holders, tire mounts, CB mounts, you can end up with drastically different prices. Personally I'm running an ARB front and CBI hybrid rear and I love them both. ARB cost me about 800, the CBI was over a grand (you can PM me if you want details). Dunno how much you get up farther north but I trail run around Fort Collins and Estes when Im up at school. Hopefully I'll see you at a meet or a trail. Enjoy the runner!

Welcome !!! I know this is a great forum to belong to. We are a great toy. community with lots of knowledge to help you with your t4r needs. and thanks for the advice on the addicted offroad bumpers. i do like those but i am looking for more of a plate bumper rather than a tube bumper, their sliders do look extremely well built

Just so you dont waste a trip, rampart is closed from the Springs side as well as the Woodland side.. Just there yesterday..

And Gentry that would be great i need a fairly easy trail run to figure out the limits on the new rig! i actually forgot that rampart had areas the the bigger rigs to play on too!
