HI,
I'm a newbie to the forum and have a 2001 4runner that I recently took to the shop and had my A/C compressor replaced and received a list of other items that needed to or would need to be replaced in the future. I got everything done that needed to be replaced either by the shop or myself and took a trip this past weekend. I had my check engine light, trac off, and VSC trac lights all come on at the same time. I thought it might be a low battery start so I unhooked the battery to reset the lights and checked the usual stuff under the hood and checked my air filter, because that was one of the things on the list and saw that there was no air filter. So apparently I have been driving around with no air filter. I never asked them to replace it and I have no idea why the F%#@ they would take it out and not put it back in or a new one back in. So I am asking if anyone might know what all is now messed up, because all 3 lights came back on and I went to Advanced Auto and had the computer plugged in and got the code PO171 (Bank 1 system too lean). I looked around and it sounds like it might be MAF sensor or O2 sensor. So if anyone knows what might be the cause and any advice on how to handle this please let me know. Thanks.
