Newbie question on transmissions

Newbie question here. I just purchased a 05 v8 se, just wondering if our trucks can get the pink milkshake issue? I can't find anything about it so I may have answered my own question. Thanks guys I'll post some pic's when I pick it up today from the shop.

I believe the V8 models already have an external Trans cooler, so it shouldn't be an issue. My V6 had the same kind of internatl T-cooler that the 3rd gens had so earlier this year I installed a B&M external tranny cooler and had it plumbed to avoid the internal cooler altogether. Cheap insurance IMO.

If the auto trans cooler is part of the radiator (as in 99% of auto trans equipped vehicles) there is always potential for your "pink milkshake".
Make/model/year/engine has nothing to do with it.
A separate cooler for the trans is the only way to prevent it from ever happening.

From some of the searches I have read, it still looks like the transmission is still hooked into the rad then to the external cooler or vise versa. Can you run the lines just to the cooler only? or will this screw up the tranny?

If it does have both the radiator cooler and a second external cooler in series (which is unusual) toy could just disconnect and bypass the radiator internal cooler. But the external cooler alone may of be adequate, in which case a larger aftermarket cooler could be added.
