remember tube is always stronger than plate.

wow.....so wrong....depends on the load man, and even then i would make the argument there's to many variables to make a broad statement like that....force of impact, moment load, dynamic buckling ect ect ect..i'm not even going to respond to the rest of it as i don't want to get into another stupid plate vs tube bumper fight, your comparing apples to oranges......

hott! :) yeah totally regretting not getting a 4wd :whipping2

Let's see, a girl with a 4Runner, chic in her screenname, calling guys in 4Runners hot, and now she posts with S&M pics?

I bet someone's inbox is getting mighty full right about now! :naughty:

P.S. There's no way to say that last sentence that doesn't invite innuendo, especially after the first sentence! :biggrin2:

nope sorry tube is always stronger, more surface area, distribute more force, circular structure eliminates weak points. ever wonder why they dont make roll cage outta metal strips.

Don't forget she is a Patriots Fan too.

VA- don't let the fact you are only 2wd discourage you. You can go tons of places with a mild lift and 2wd especially if you add a locker of some kind. Several good builds on here for ideas, CoB's is one of the best application of function I have seen and it looks pretty too.(he hates it when I say he has a pretty or sweet looking truck, but damn its a good looking truck...LOL)

:girl:Crazy how just adding "chic" to your screenname changes the # of responses to the "lift" subject. Most of us get the cold shoulder. Just sayin...

I was thinking the same thing. Anyone else there would've been maybe 2 replies before she would've been directed to SEARCH.

OP, :worthless: :girl:

mainly:
weight vs strength ratio and the lateral load

.....there's a reason why plates are used for some things and tube for others....i'm not going to sit down and show you the math, but plate and pipe
both have their place, and in terms of bumpers saying tube is always stronger is just wrong, it depends on alot of things and what your doing,no doubt the tube is going to be lighter but not necessarily stronger, it's all about the design and how the impact happens......i'm not arguing any more ,i know what i'm on about, this is my living.....

to many variables to make a blanket statment,

case in point

yes this smitty built is stronger then a plate bumper......just because it's made from tube, doesn't matter what kind of tube or anything else tube just rocks and is always better.....

i fully understand why tube is used for a roll cages and fully aware of the dynamics of tube it's self, obviously your not or you'd be aware of the weakness inherent in tube material and why you have to make up for those short comings in design.....again plate can be just as strong if not stronger if done right..and even then i feel like that's a stupid thing to even have to say...it really comes down to design....last post on the matter, believe it or not it's the truth....

I think they just wanted to give you another thread to search to go along with the sticky and the 3200 other threads on lifts... But wait hers is different it is 2wd so that means there are only 250 other lift threads to search.

Totally agree with you though, would not have made it past page 1 maybe 2 without 4 look at the sticky, Use search you newb if she wasnt clearly female.

You and your 4R. I think it's safe to say a lot of guys on here like chics with their trucks just like you like us with ours. ;)

She has a few in her album, link is under her avatar. How else would I know she was a Patriots fan. And this guy goes with the second pic of her :guitar3:

OP- Looks like a nice ride... her truck isnt bad either.....:wow: :frisky::lmao:

All meant in fun.
