This thing had to be in an accident, then they took it to a cheap auto body shop that ordered the cheapest front end they could.

It almost looks like a Nissan frontier.

I dig it, won't get the headlamp haze the plastic taco lamps get. But no way someone went through all that work for kicks. No mention about clean or branded title in the ad.

And yeah, up here, everyone takes KBB and add 3-5k and slaps it up on CL.

Emailed just for kicks

Me: Noticed the 4runner front end, looks pretty cool. Is the title clean?

Him: Just a small accident to the front end so not a clean title but no frame or engine damage

Small accident requiring an entire front clip, something about that math doesn't seem right to me lol.

Yeah it's pretty obvious what's happened here. Although it does look pretty professionally done if it passed my inspection and had a '96-'98 clip instead of '99+ I might buy it, with a lot more of the usual "ifs" of course.

Does seem to have seats out of a second-gen truck, which is pretty weird. Guess the donor 4runner had leather or something.

I have always wanted to see a Tacoma to 4Runner conversion done, since so many usually do 4Runner to Tacoma front clip conversions. 89-95 Pickups often are converted to 4Runner front ends, interesting to finally see it done on a 1st gen Tacoma.

A plate bumper and color matched grille could make this a good looking truck. It has a lot of potential. Less chrome, add a lift and tires. The rims could be swapped to any OEM style.

He probably couldn't find seats that haven't had airbag deployment also. Once an airbag has deployed there is a computer in the seats that needs to be changed as well. That's my guess. However, I'd be suspicious that he didn't swap non airbag seats in because they are less expensive, and them pulled the Airbag light from the cluster so he could sell it.

I also think this looks a bit weird. Which is funny because I also like the looks of the Taco front end on a Runner.

I think that's a large reason I think it looks weird to me. The fat lip bumper just seems to stand out so much more to my eye. I agree that with a painted grill and an aftermarket bumper would really change the look.

It's a TacoRunner!!! I wonder if this is what the Taco Bell delivery boy drives hahaha!!

Thats what my girlfriend said :D
