Nightshadez Complete!

I used VHT nightshades on my taillights, cleaned them sanded (lightly) i covered the reverse light, and the turn single on my first coat and i put one coat over it all, i then removed the tape on the reverse/turn signal lights and put a coat over it all. and i did the red reflectors and 3rd break light.
Pictures are in daylight... they look much brighter than they actually are.

Looks really good, makes me want to do this as well. Did you use any type of clear coat? If not you probably should to help it last longer.

It was super easy. and kind of.. my can was empty so i only got a reall little bit and it made it look rough.

Can't wait to be the guy rear ending you because I could not see your brake lights. Then watching your insurance company cancel yout policy because you dramatically altered DOT mandated equipment.
I don't mean to be a PIA but the DIY blacked out/altezza tail lights really annoy me.

I am not a fan of altered tail lights either, I almost rearended a car that had that. I couldn't tell his brakes were on because he had no third light. It looked like he only had his parking lights on.

Actually that VHT nightshades is pretty translucent my lights are way darker and my taillights show through just fine

i have done this to my 4runner and my civic...there's little to no difference in bulb brightness

In all honesty its not that dark.. if you dont see me brakeing your texting or eating.. or blind? or old... or all of the above..plus it makes the blacked out look even better! imp:

PS: in that picture the lights are off.. they are not on.

Either way, chances are you are going to be at fault in a rear end collision if the other driver complains to the insurance adjuster.

Thats an expensive ticket in Maine, at least with the covers you can pull them off and you might get out of it.....

I also had VHT Nightshade on my tails, just got done paying a $280 ticket because of them to the city of Marietta.

Needless to say I removed my tails and wet sanded with 1000 grit and put a light coat of clear back on and they look better than brand new,

Not trying to rain on anyones parade but just know you have been warned as most states require at least 2 red reflectors on the rear that emmit a red color when brakes are applied
