Nitto Crosstek ?? Personal experience needed

Hello good people on T4R. I need some tire feedback. I am looking into getting some new tires. I have searched the forum, as well as online and found little info on these tires, Nitto Crosstek.

My situation is I drive a lot of highway miles. Currently I am just shy of 100k on my truck. I lifted my 4 runner because I believe it looks better that way, I do no off road driving. Right now I have Nitto Terra Grappler 265/70/17. I would like to get the Nitto Crosstek HD 285/70/17 just to fill my wheel wells up some the 265's look alittle small with my 3in lift. The side walls of crossteks look identical to my Terra Grapplers. Honestly I need a quiter tire.

Folks that have crossteks, do you like them? Are they ok in the snow and rain? How are they holding up and would you buy them again ?

I can't offer an opinion on the Nitto Crosstek, but from your description, I would suggest you also consider the Michelin LTX M/S2, which is offered in a 285/70R17. The Michelin is widely regarded as the best tire in this category - quiet, long lasting (>65-70K miles) with exceptional road manners. I don't run the LTX M/S2 currently, but have on other vehicles and can certainly vouch for it.

I'll second the M/S 2, I run a set of 275/55/20 and absolutely love them. Awesome ride quality and butta smooth!

I'd guess it is the same rubber and base tire core as all the other toyo or Nitto in that same size. Probably an ok toe. I'd also consider goodyear at tires -the ats style. They're kinda $$$ but great highway tires. Bfg has a relatively new rugged terrain that is supposed to be very good on the highway with a bit more offroad look.

I ran them for about 25,000 miles on my 2007 Tundra. They were way better than the Toyos they replaced, but were a little squirrelly in the snow...

I can't speak for that particular Nitto tire, but I've run Nittos exclusively for years (went with Coopers on this 4Runner ...no particular reason) and I have no complaints. I've run Terrain, Trail and Exo grapplers ranging from 32-37 inch. Great company and great tires.
