265 is a stock size but they do not make a 275
What is the advantage of running the psi so high? Recommended is 32 correct? Sorry for the newb questions...... Just bought a set of these this morning, same size, from discount tire.... They aired them up to 40 psi. Not sure why so high..... Just trying to figure out what pressure to go with.... Was thinking about bringing down to 32 psi....

Who's running C's and E's? Having a hard time debating. 95% of the time I use my rig for daily on-road driving. The other 5% is going through trails, rocks/boulders, and stumps. Will be going 285/70-17.

I'm in about the same use range as you and I've convinced myself to go C when I get these. Yes they are only about 5lbs lighter per tire than the E's but I have to be honest in that this will be a daily driver/grocery-getter/kid-Chauffeur vehicle so the ride still needs to be a bit more pliant than a heavy load capable E.
If my P-rated stock Nitto Terra Grapplers are any example of toughness I think C's will be plenty. I have pulled a 2 inch safety-pin out of my Terra-Grapplers, a broken drywall screw, slashed the sidewall on a trail somewhere and have not had to put any plugs or gotten a blow-out etc. I'm looking at getting the Ridge Grapplers in 285/70/17 in the next month or two and I believe the 6-ply on the C's will be tough enough for my use.

I ask because I have been reading a bunch of threads and reviews(on here and on other sites and magazines :hiding
about winter/ice tires. That said, I am concerned that Ridge's in a 265 E rating might be a bad choice during winter.
Any thoughts?

I was in a pretty bad snow storm during Christmas break. I have the 265 E-rated tires. They worked great on snowy icy roads.Has anyone had a chance to run these in cold snowy conditions like the NE?

Hoping someone chimes in that has them on their rig where temps get low(teen's and 20's) and stay low while snow/ice is on the ground.

It was 15-25 degrees. It's probably not what you're use it back eat. Hope that helps brother.

It was zero degrees in Bend this past week. Tires worked fine.

How's the ride in the e-rated stock size? I'd be coming over from c-rated Duratracs, so, probably wouldn't be a huge jump.

It rides great. It's noticeable heavier but it's quiet and smooth. I have no complaints so far.
