Nitto Ridge Grappler?

Im looking at these tires for my stock 16' 4x4 SR5 as a first upgrade for the truck. Could someone please help me out with what's the largest size that fits the stock rims as well as won't rub?

I read it was 275 but didnt see that particular size on the website.

Thank You,
Ryan

They don't make a 275 in this tire. Do a 265. 285 is too wide for SR5 rim.

285/75R17 "C" installed on 17x8.5 SCS SR8 Wheels with 1.25" G2 Wheel Spacers. I'm really liking this setup. The SR8s are incredibly light, probably the closest to OEM weight available in an aftermarket wheel. Stoked on how it came out!

Looks great. Now, about those running boards ... ;)

Have you had to re gear or do a BMC? Looks great, btw. I just watched your install video on you tube yesterday, and now you already have switched out wheels and tires :-)

Definitely have to do BMC and gears aren't needed until 35s but some guys even change gears when running 33s. These are approx 33.8" tall

Hahha yeah I agree and want the C4 sliders

That looks great ! Do u have any issues with the tires rubbing with the spacers?

Thanks and yes it was rubbing more than I'd hoped so I took the spacers off. I got to the point of trimming where I was going to have to trim the inside pinch welds of the body. That 1.25" further out was too much. Not rubbing at all now though.

I was pricing out some 285 KO2s, but I'll be damned if this thread just made me change my mind!!!

KO2 are great tires as well but I wanted something different from the masses. Also BFG run smaller in size than spec and they don't offer C or D load in the sizes I wanted

Kinda surprised more people here aren't running the E rated sidewalls in these. I get it, more cushion.

Anywho, may go with these as my next tire, but it won't be for a while since I only have about 7k on my Toyos. May use these as a way to explore the 305s even though I pussed out earlier.

Only thing that's annoying me and I'm surprised it doesn't annoy more people:

It seems like the C's are weighing the exact same as the E's.

Obviously those riding on C's can't really tell whether they are softer than the E's.....they are just assuming because 6ply vs. 10ply, which is a completely fair assumption..

...but come on, the reduction in ply should come with a reduction in weight!! Either way it's not stopping me.

For the Duratracs in 265/70/17
E-Load = 51lb
C-Load = 44lb

Just surprised there's no difference. Really cool tire though!

My friend just went offroading for the first time with these Ridge Grapplers and already experience a slashed sidewall. Load E at 20psi. Something to consider.

Got to soft sand test the new 34" Ridge Grapplers. They did very well, especially since they're at 34 psi. I would have air downed if I was planning on all day but just went for a couple hours with my son so "he" could play with his Axial RC Crawlers. Also stumbled upon a clueless tourist that apparently thought their rental Mustang was a 4x4. That took a solid 30+ minutes of digging the entire car out as they were to the frame front to back. We couldn't access their tow hook, which btw they don't have in the rear just in case you guys are ever in this situation as reversing them out was the only option. lol

They look great! Might be a tad big for what I want...how much lift you running? 3" front and 2" rear?

Nitto says they run 32.76" not 33.8" an inch is a big difference...that's what she said

He's running the 285/75/17 which are and inch taller than the 285/70/17.

Yes, 3/2 suspension with 1" body lift as well but that doesn't make a difference about clearing the body mounts

Same for me after seeing 34s on other rigs as I had 285s for a year and they started looking too small. Definitely have to chop fairly deep to clear but worth it to me. I would have gone with the 295s as they're 33.5 x 12 but they don't offer them in C rated, only E

Agreed. I even called Nitto to confirm those weight specs and they said it's just the way they're constructed. I can attest to the "feel" of C vs D vs E as I went from KM2(D) to Deegan 38 (E) to now the Ridge Grapplers (C). Fully inflated there a huge difference between the rates in the stiffness but as soon as I deflated to 35psi, they all softened up tremendously. I maybe lost .5 MPG but that's it. Pot holes aren't nearly as annoying now
