Hossman -

I have yet to hear of any 'factory-authorized' employee pricing program for Toyota vehicles. Of course, they may end up going that route - I don't know. As a current lessee of a Toyota, I think that would be a bad thing. I have no proof, but my gut feeling is that it would harm the resale value of any late-model car, truck or van on the used market.

Remember what happened the the residual value of Fords when they pushed those 24-month leases a few years ago? They went into the dumper. Of course, all of those 2-year-old former rental cars and fleet vehicles on the market did not do much to help them, either.

The way Toyotas are selling these days, I don't know why they would want to reduce their prices. They are kicking the crap out of Chrysler, Ford and GM and will continue to do so until the "Big Three" do more to address quality control issues; both real and perceived.
