No sound after speaker upgrade

I bought some Alpine SPS-610C component speakers to replace the factory system in my non-JBL '06. I just finished the drivers side door after about two hours of cutting/drilling/fabricating to get everything to fit.

When I plugged it in and turned on the stereo, there is no sound at all coming from the new speakers and it's only playing on the passenger side. Any ideas as to why this would be happening? Is it because I've only replaced one side and the factory stereo doesn't like mismatched speakers?

As for wiring, I was a little confused how to setup the crossovers since there is individual factory connections for both the woofer and the tweeter. So I have everything wired to the one plug for the woofer. Is this the right way to do it?

I'm debating taking it to a shop to have them finish the job, but I really would rather do the install myself if I can figure it out. Thanks for your help and ideas in advance!

I figured it out! Turns out that the connector for the tweeter still has to be plugged into the factory wiring harness. I assume this is because it's wired in parallel?

I just installed those same speakers a few weeks ago. You just need to tap into the 2 wires from the tweeter harness.

Did you not use the Alpine crossovers or did you just hook the bass blocker directly to the tweeter line instead of to the speaker?

which wires get spliced in together at the tweeter location? i will be doing my stereo/speaker install in about 2 weeks

If I recall I just cut the plug off the tweeter and plugged it in to complete the circuit.

The factory plug that connects to the tweeter has four wires but two of these are wired together to complete the circuit and two go to the tweeter. I'm not using any of the wires as I wired everything to the main woofer connection.

I simply cut the two wires off directly at the tweeter and wrapped them with electrical tape and tucked them away.
