Noise and Rattling??? Is it going to break?

I have a 1996 4Runner SR5, with e-locker. It has been starting to have some issues. over 360000 kms so its been used, condition is okay, motor pulls strong and tranny shifts hard

In my feet and the passengers you can feel something knocking around underneath you. After every decent bump it knocks around. But I cant pin point where its coming from. I believe this caused a fast ticking noise. The noise only happens when i come to a stop, but only in certain positions. One stop there may be no noise, another it occurs. It stops clicking when i'm in park, and stops clicking when i accelerate. It also stops clicking when i'm stopped but build rpms (like i'm going to do a burn out)

I cant think of any other thing I tried to change to get different results. I have no idea what it could be... If you have any idea or input, or things i should try let me know.

Also something else is I had my rear brakes adjusted and sometimes the one wheel will lock up and be squealing then *pop* and will release. Happens after it sits, once it pops its good to drive for the time being. Until i let it sit for a couple of hours. Not sure if this could cause something like the problem above.

Crawl under and wiggle the sway bar right in the middle .... They have little rubber bushings , they are most likely toast... Get some Energy Suspension ones.

Check your bash plate is torqued down. I've had issues with my bash plate (not stock but nonetheless) vibrate against the frame at certain frequencies (caused by rpm, speed, etc.)

just kick it until it's fixed

get under there with a short piece of 2x4 and a hammer and start hitting stuff. Have you jacked it up so wheels are off the ground? then hit it and kick it from underneath. First front, then rear. When rear wheels are off the ground and it is on JACK STANDS have friend put it in drive and see if it clunks or bangs or etc.

Thank you for clarifying that, although there are better methods than laying under an elevated vehicle and kicking things... lol.

The previous suggestions were all good ones. I'd also check out your CV joints. Make sure they're where they're supposed to be. I'd also like to mention the fact that the rattle shields(name?) on our brakes have a tendency to come loose and will cause one hell of a racket. Pull the front tires off and ensure that the springs/pins are all in place and that the rattle shield is firmly in place. Just my 2c.

I think i figured it out. The rattling wasn't from the previously thought sway bar although those bushings are rotten as well. It was from the exhaust which sheered off right after the heading. I'm going to try welding it back on without blowing a hole through the steel and see how well that works.
