noise - fuel pump?

Hi all,

I've been meaning to ask this for a while...

I was sleeping in my 11 4runner in november, the temp was just below freezing and I was woken up in the middle of the night by some noise.
It sounded like smallish electrical motor running. I got outside, walked around and located the noise close to the fuel tank area. I could hear that smallish electrical motor noise and a sound of liquid flow/running.
Was it a fuel pump and what was it doing..? It was couple hours after I shut the engine, I guess.

Look under the FAQs. In the stickies. Explains it all. It's in your manual to. But yes it's there and it's normal.
