Non nav double din with backup?

So here's what I went with:

Pioneer AVH-X3700
Metra 95-8210 Install kit
PAC TATO JBL Amplifier Turn-on Interface
PAC SWI-RC
Xtenzi USB and AUX cable
Micro Bypass (any suggestions for cameras?)

I bought everything off Amazon since I have Prime and the shipping is tough to beat. Am I missing anything other than the reverse camera? I'm going to attempt the install myself and try to save a couple bills. This will be my first self-installation, so it should be fun. :fear: Can anybody point me to the Crutchfield installation instructions? Any other tips? I've researched a little bit about turning the volume up 3/4 of the way before removal of the stock HU, but I'm guessing that's only one of many things I'll have to keep in mind.

Floyd, does your 4Runner have the stock JBL with RDS and 6-disc in dash? I am looking to upgrade my setup, and i have the JBL with RDS and 6-disc and wondered if everything you purchased would work and if you were happy with the setup. Just want to make sure i have everything I need for a smooth (as possible) install :)

Will the aux outlet inside the center console still work with a new pioneer head unit?

I'm planning on running my USB and AUX to the center console. I actually wasn't aware there is one there already. From what I've seen though, there is no problem with doing this with a new head unit.

Yeah, JBL with RDS. I'll be installing it next weekend and I'll let you know how it goes. If you want to see what systems fit your 4runner and the other components you'll need I recommend checking out crutchfield.com.

If you haven't already bought the head unit, the Pioneer AVH-X3700BHS is $265 on caraudiogiants.com

Thanks! I tried looking at crutchfield, and for some reason it only would show single din units for my car and not the double din... not sure if something was going on with the site or if i wasn't holding my tongue right :) Let me know how it goes!

Here's my Pioneer installed, and it sounds great! I only connected the 'main' (larger) antenna and my reception is fine. Also wired up a new backup camera, and the head unit displays the image as soon as reverse is engaged - works like a champ.

I too have the Pioneer AVH-X3600BHS. It works great. Bluetooth work flawlessly as does the back up camera. I'm just using a $19 backup camera from amazon and the picture is impressive.

Where did you mount that camera? Got any pics?

Did you do install and camera install yourself? Steering wheel controls too?

I did the installation myself. I don't have steering wheel controls and my factory audio was the non-JBL system so probably a bit less complicated overall.

Wiring the backup camera was a ***** - especially getting the RCA jack through the rubber wire chase between the top of the lift gate and the body. Also took some unnatural body positioning to reach into the lift gate and secure the new wires to the existing wire bundles with zip ties. Once I got past that part of the install, the rest was a piece of cake.

I ran the power for the camera along with the video cable along the drivers side and tapped the reverse power line under the driver's door sill. I used this same tap to connect the reverse sensing wire from the head unit (which is what tells the head unit to display the feed from the cam when transmission is in reverse).
