Non-nav JBL speaker wire routing question

On the dreaded JBL Synthesis system, obviously the harness sends line level from the head unit back to the amp module. Do the speaker wires (output of the amp) run all the way back up to the front (dash or kick panel) and *then* out to the individual speaker locations, or do they spider out straight from the amp itself?

I've been looking at the Metra 70-8117 harness, but it sure looks like it uses the factory harness to send signal all the way down to the amp and back. Personally, I'd rather just wire straight into speaker wires behind the dash if possible.

There is a left and right that go from the head unit to the amp then from the amp to all the speakers. ALl you would have to do is get a cable that contains 4 pairs. 8 conductor wire. Then you can tap in to the speaker connections by the amp. You can find the diagram online with the color codes. If you dont want to do this then you can run all new wire from the head unit to the speakers. I just dealt with this so if you have any questions let me know. You can use the metra harness to retain factory amp or run your own wires to the amp area or speakers.
