Noob with Tire, Lift, and Rims Question

So I have a 2004 Sport V6 that is bone stock and I'm ready to start a little modding. I naturally want to start with the tires and rims. I have decided I want the Mickey Thompson MTZ or ATZ tires with the XD Addict Rims. My question is how big can I go with my rims and tires before I have to do a lift in order for there to be no rubbing. And do I need to remove my running boards? I'm very new to this so sorry if it's a dumb question. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help.

Its going to depend a lot of your suspension. but I would try to stick as close to you can with stock tire sizing to be safe.

LROR 3" Lift Kit

Im looking to install a 3" Low Range Off Road Lift Kit on our stock 2016 SR5 Premium 4WD. Once I've got it lifted, depending how it looks with OEM rubber, I may want to step up a size or two.

So if I could ask here, does anyone have any experience with this kit (or one like it) and once installed, how big a tire can I run without having clearance/rubbing issues? I appreciate the help!
