I've tried different brand mics. From cheap to top brands. It's hit and miss with all of them, mainly what you found with the thin wires they use.
Best I could suggest, get a better brand, astatic, ranger, roadking, and try it out, if it has a problem also, open it up and see if you can take care of the soldering or hit up a pro shop to do it. The Mic will last for a lifetime in general for you.
Better performance Mic also.

Meh... It makes sense that they use thin wiring, but I'd expect the top brands to at least have a good soldering job. On my unit, it looks like they didn't prep the pin, and gave it a nice cold solder.
I'll probably give it a shot fixing it up since I have some experience with soldering things like this. If that fixes it, I'll be happy and at least I know what caused it...
Most likely, I won't pick up a mic, unless this fixes it, and it does the same thing again. But, I'll keep these brands in mind.

Ok 4gen guys. I've decided to replace my eng and trans skids to steel. These aluminum skid did there job to a point, but not efficiently to my punishment I put them through. So I'm willing to let them go reasonably cheap, yes there beat up, and tweaked a little, but work still.
Mainly local only, not shipping them. There RCIs first originals when he came to our site.

Good to know, might have to check my other Mic, think it had the same problem.
Running a cheap one and it's been holding up, so far.

Nope, just need the eng/Trans in steel.
I have full armor already, just did alum in the beginning in 2012. Saving weight at that time, LOL, look at me now, need stronger.
I've added reinforcement on the diff skids due to bending them.
Will be doing the same reinforment on these before they go on.

Hell, while where on a roll, I have OEM lower trailing arms that have angle iron and flat stock welded on them so they don't bend so easily and can slide with them, how do I know that, I wonder.
Will let them go for cheap also!

Ohhhh. That's neat! My original career goal was focused around small electronics too, and then I, somehow managed to slowly transition over to the coding side of things.
