My personal opinion, the larger the group, the longer it takes, especially when you have a wide range of experience, plus, taking in sites, wrong lines, spots, pictures, videos, and so on. Breaking into smaller groups means not everyone will be together or, depending on speed, will end up getting stacked up. All of this poses issues for those with time constraints or day trips if a group meet-up is planned for after.

Another aspect is the later you start, the more trail traffic that may be encountered.

Just some things to ponder.

I’m in for what ever and will just figure out my situation based on what unfolds .... but if we’re voting... I vote for Friday or if not ... then as early start as possible Saturday.

Was the mud pit close to to the top still there or has it dried up?
I was up there Memorial Day weekend and saw a crew of jeepers winching themselves past it.
We pulled out the bbq and watched them then headed down after lunch.
There was a big group of buggies at the spot your talking about with the bypass everyone takes. Was awesome watching those guys basically just point and shoot straight up that trail.

The spot [MENTION=88231]having fun[/MENTION] and I ran is the actual trail, the mud pit section is technically a bypass. There was still a bit of a mud hole that I could see, but I am sure it is drying up fast.

Thinking about going wheeling in the Sierras or down south near Arnold and possibly hit sourgrass again... Somewhere not too far from Sac... Just need to get out of the house... :bolt:

So the 275 KO2s are on the runner, which makes me a lot more confident going on some of the trails. Unfortunately the lift isn't coming until end of July.

Did some testing in Prairie City, and KO2s are well worth the MPG and acceleration hits, plus they look awesome. Def need that lift as some of the more challenging rock parts started bending my running boards, new sliders are on my buy list.

I'm partial to C4s, although no powder coat and the wait kinda sucks. CBI and PELFREYBILT are also nice. Although the suspension install guy also fabricates sliders, so I might go that rout.

I assume you're local to Sac? If so, Stellarbuilt makes some sweet sliders too. They're local.

I'm not affiliated with them, nor do I have their sliders... But If I knew about them before I got my sliders, I would've gone to them.

Super last minute trip with my buddies from Utah and LA. Literally got called Saturday morning at 10am, and was asked if I wanted to join on the fun at Mammoth Lakes. Met up with them at the Laurel Lake Trailhead... To bad the snow drifts were still crazy... At least 4ft high, if not more... Kinda crazy since it's already summer... 6 rigs, a group of about 15 people = good times.

And I think I wheeled too hard...

Spent Sunday at Tuolumne Climbing, Fishing and chilling at Tenaya Lake. Caught the sunset before we made our way home.

The general consensus, was to meet at the Gas Station in Bear Valley Village. Let's say between 8:30 am and 8:50 am and leave there at 9:00 am. I would suggest that this is also a good place to air down since the trail is about ½ mile from this location.
