Posting this if anyone wants to tag along... Going to Eagle Lakes Road tomorrow morning and give Fordyce a shot. Definitely need armor, that I definitely don't have. LOL

Even the Fordyce section from Eagles to the 1st water crossing, might be a little questionable for you.proper guidance would be needed.

I have the Metal Tech uppers as well.

Might see if there's a polly bushing kit, maybe not enough flex with those though.
Probably just weld on some reinforcement to my links then.

Surprisingly, I am still getting rubbing. The new driveshaft is smaller diameter so hopefully that will help. Went to Driveline Services in West Sac.

Oh, you do NOT want to give Fordyce a shot. Aside from the 5 winch hills, there are deep water crossings and you need to know what the flow rates are to determine if its passable.

The river crossing is not fun at night, when it's about 4' deep and your truck is drifting down stream and is carburetor without a snorkel.

Honestly, even if I can't make it to the first river crossing, it'll still be fun. Might even just hike in to make it to eagle lakes. My goal is just to make it to eagle lakes and have a nice lunch there and come back down. If that fails, signal peak is right around the corner.

Yeah, I saw that video as well as several postings about people running the trail (which is why I thought it might be open)...

But, one of Brenan's friends mentioned it was still closed and to check NFS website... and sure enough the NFS website still shows as closed. All those people running it are likely doing so illegally and jeopardizing the trails repair and reopening.

Good to hear. I cut back/off my support lip in the rub spots, think I might have it this time.
Then again, not having Johnny joint upper links to give me that little more to flex might be why.

Wonder if they would make an off set upper link, that would help not to make contact with the tank?

I talked to bimrunner and he put it the Cali-Fab links and their design eliminated the upper link / tank conflict

Figured as I haven't seen how much drop before hit with Aftermarket to see if offset would work, was going to talk to him as I know he would build a set.

Thanks for the info, will check it out.

Then again, more flex might put me back to hitting the tank, drive line!

I wanted to pick up 35s when I was at my parents place, so that I can take out all my anger on the wheel well pinch weld, do bmc, etc etc...

Now, I'm installing 33s.. 285/70/17... Hope they work and fine enough to run without a bmc until I get to my parents tomorrow night.... Mehh, have OME springs sitting at my place in sac waiting to be installed. Lmao

They didn't have any... Only thing close was 285/70.. Oh well.. I'm content with 33s for now... Now just gotta drive around everywhere to wear em down so I can finally do 35s...

Well, the day was good nonetheless... Except running into a group who ran the trail EXTREMELY slow and wouldn't pull off to let me pass. A snail could've ran the trail faster... And the obvious... getting 2 flats and getting towed and loosing some monies.

This tire was FUBAR. I needed to run the spare just long enough to get off the trail and hit asphalt. Not idea since they don't match... but I figure since it's dirt, I won't risk blowing the diff... At least the rear tire could hold SOME air. Held long enough to make it out.. Had to stop a few times though to keep air in it though.

Awaiting new tires... Ended up getting Nitto Terra Grappler 285/70/17. Not ideal, but I can't complain. At least I have more time to prep for 35's. :sad:
