When Foresthill Rd ends at Robinson Flat, with Soda Springs Rd to the left, take the right fork up the hill? I'd like to hit this spot this Friday. From the looks of that Tacoma, my rig should get up there easily?

You'll make it no problem. You don't need 4wheel drive. Go right at Robinson Flat and go approx 1/4 mile and turn left to head up to the lookout. It's the first left you can take after passing the campground. What time are you heading up? I might see you there if your not heading out too early.

Thanks! I'll leave Auburn at 8am. Perhaps I'll see you...we know what rigs to look for, lol

I wouldn't be able to leave town until late morning unfortunately. I highly suggest you take Soda Springs Rd back to 80 at Donner Summit if you have time.

I made that run three years ago, loved it! Won't have time tomorrow...we had to put one of our dogs down last Saturday. I don't want to leave my little Shih-Tzu alone too long just yet; they were very close.

Made a run to Cascade Lakes in Soda Springs. Absolutely gorgeous up there! From there, went up Old Hwy 40 to Donner Summit, and stopped by Lake Spaulding on the way home.
