Not another maintenance thread..

Hey guys. So i used to be more active on here, fell off with college and had to make a new profile. So now im back! I drive a 1999 3rd gen, 120k on the clock, central florida...

So my question is what maintenance do you guys usually do around this point. I'm not talking about fluid changes and whatnot. I've done my 100k maintenance such as belts, ect. Also have done ball joints, tie rods, valve cover, and axle seals.

Im looking at doing my steering bushings, rack guide and sway bar bushings when they come in the mail, I was wondering what other similar items you recommend looking into?

Also, Any recommendations on taking out the scratches in the plastic trim, or at least reducing their appearance?

Sounds like you have a lot of the bigger maintenance problems covered. One thing i didnt see was valve cover gaskets and fuel injectors. A lot of guys replace there gasket when they send their fuel injectors out to be spray tested and cleaned. Witchhunter does this for a great price and has an excellent representation on here. you can google witchhunter 3rd gen for more info. Also, regular upkeep on the frame and rear axle to keep the rust disease at bay.

Thanks for your reply! Those have also both been done. I had a cylinder 4 misfire, and ended up being a bad injector. Went and replaced it and put new seals all the way across. Ill have to check him out though, for the other injectors. However this is my DD and I do need it daily, so i'm not sure if I could manage to send them out.

Thats a good idea. I may do an underside coating while I do my steering bushings. Thankfully im in central florida, so the rust so far hasn't been an issue. No beaches and no road salt!

And after looking at the website, purely out of curiosity I looked into DIY injector cleaning. Don't want to have bad etiquette and point to another foum, but it was an interesting read and ideas. Plus, we all love our cars here and they have some awesome garage shop ideas.
