Not really a build thread...

So, I can't call this a build thread really... as I haven't really built anything. Hah

Maybe it's a learning thread.
Anywho it's a '99 SR5 4X 3.4. No options, just base.

This it a few months after I bought it. Did the T-belt kit from ebay, plus new brakes w/brembo rotors and gran turing pads, plus tune up. Oh yeah, and after trying many types of rims (old ones were totally rusted and shot) I settled on the TRD FJ's.

Notice the broken antenna. - Got lazy one day and did the car wash to clean the salt and forgot about antenna. Whoops.

Then in the spring came the lift. Duhockey was awesome and got me some 7.5 wraps and shipped em out. Sourced out some used TRD coils off a tundra on ebay as well as picked up some skyjacker shocks for the rear.

Rear was done in probably 30 minutes. Fronts took me almost 3 days. Rust had completely enclosed the studs and nuts on the front coils. It was a nightmare and I still shudder. A torch would have been mighty swell.

As I had run out of time, had a shop install sonoran diff drop and extended brake line. Steve is an awesome dude.

Then came the new rubber. 265/75/16 BFG AT's.

By this point the deck plate mod and an airaid had gone in as well. Making more noise to add to my exhaust leak! As well as new poly steering rack bushings and poly stab link bushings.

Also got a sweet deal on some yakima roof racks and me and my infinite wisdom had always thought that I had factory tracks but no racks. Nope.
So I ordered a set of proline tracks, and took em to the drill press so I could keep the factory mounting holes.

It has now been 2 years and the rust had really started to consume metal and my steering rack had begun to leak. Why not tackle it all at once?
Dropped it off to Toy works - local shop in the area and got a bumper made up as well as took care of some things.

Now how she sits today - badly needing a wash.

Nice truck! Looks like it came along way. Cant wait to see more. Also good choice on those wheels! Do you mind if I ask how much and where you got them?

Thanks!
If my memory serves... I actually got them on eBay from a Toyota Dealership in SoCal. Even with shipping to Canada I think I paid around 6-700.

Thanks. I wasn't sure about the black colouring but I didn't feel like shelling out another 500 for flares. I think this is the next best thing and it's all done in stainless.

I'd like to do the front bumper the same colour as well and have it all the way through. Once the driving lights and fogs go on I'll update with some new pics.
Working 7 days a week doesn't leave me too much time.

Maybe I'll take a T4R vacation to work on the truck.
