My mom's 04 Rav4 has recently had some trouble with the drivers side door lock. I know for a fact that it is the actuator because it's the most common problem with her generation Rav.
My question has to do with the handle rod that does down to the actuator, and there is one of those yellow clips that holds it up at the handle. The only way to get to it is through an access hole up next to it, and I'm wondering the best way to get it out, I used a long screwdriver to try to tap it out and no luck. I there a tool that mechanics use for those clips?

Did you lift (or unlatch) the yellow clip from the rod? Then insert a flat screwdriver between the rod and the handle where the rod is attached and pry it.

Yeah I tried both of those things, and the issue that I have is that that clip is in such an awkward place to try to get it unclipped. I was really hoping to know if mechanics have a secret way or they have a tool that can just pop it out from the back of the clip.

It probably would, but I would love to find some that are like a foot long.
