Notification options

I only know of this because of other forums I'm a member of.

If someone likes your post, or quotes you, you get the little notification top right, correct?

Why can you get similar notifications on subscribed threads? I don't want emails... I just want the little thing on the top right. "So and so commented on a thread you commented on"

Just a suggestion.

Or am I retarded and not checking the right boxes somewhere?

i'm certain I have my boxes checked right and sometimes I get notifications, sometimes not. no real rhyme or reason
