November 2015 Meet and Trail Run

I think in general most of the meet ups are going to be 1 day runs with the option of camping before/after. October's run was much the same. We ran Rouse Hill then ran into Idylwyld for lunch. After lunch everyone split into the hard/easy groups or went home. Some of the guys camped nearby, most of us drove up the morning of.

This next run I'm planning on camping. I need to kill some PTO anyway so I'll likely take a half day Friday, pick up the kid from school, and head straight for mountain (or desert if snow closes the trails)
 
Updated first post. @GVL, thanks for leading this run, I'm sure it will be a great time. Once I sort out the exact route, I'll modify that, but it looks like this is mostly in the bag. Now to look into Friday night...

This really motivates me to finish the 1. elocked rear axle swap 2. driver cv swap 3. steering guide upgrade.

I have all the parts, I just been busy/lazy to put in the labor.

I really wanted to go to this, but I have a MTB race down at Casper's Wilderness Park that is already entered/paid for. Only a couple more MTB events for the year and then I'm free! Have fun out there!

Just thought I would throw this out there if anyone wants to make a little trip out of it. I have a couple extra bedrooms at my place and would welcome any company that wants to come up a day early or stick around after the run Saturday. The fishing is starting to get pretty good with the cooler weather and some fun hiking trails around here too. Just shoot me a PM if there's any interest.

Granted our weather can change on a dime, but I was looking at Big Bear's forecasts and they're forecasting snow on Nov 3rd. Going to be an interesting couple weeks watching the weather up there. Plan on it being cold for sure though. Average is 55 during the day that time of the year. brrrrrrr.

I wouldn't mind getting my snow wheeling cherry popped and seeing what these duratracs are made of. Be fun for the kids too to have something to play in.

I seriously doubt we'll see any significant snow by then, but I would probably want to air down a bit anyway if you're going to do White Mountain. I know there's a couple of loose sections that a softer tire and larger footprint will definitely help. I have a pretty decent little compressor that hooks directly to the battery if you need to use it.

Do you think a locker is required for white mt? Ive seen a few different trail reports with varying opinions
 
I might be able to go, ill see what things look like in a day or two. anyone know if fires are allowed up there? if my girl has the weekend off, I would probably be down to camp.
 
I might just rent a cabin up in Big Bear and stay the weekend up there. And meet up with you guys on Saturday morning.

Definitely NOT necessary for first 3/4(guesstimate)of it. And NOT necessary for the last 1/4 of it, but it would be a huge advantage IF HEADING EAST of 3N11. Below is Kanger328 from our November '14 run. This section is steep. It was starting to snow sideways!
