NYC Potholes

Hello all...NYC potholes have been slowly killing my TE. The top mounting point of my rear Bilstein 5100 has completely sheered off. Any ideas if the Bilstein warranty will cover this? Has anyone ever had this happen? It was installed less than 10k ago.

I recently had to make a trip to Long Island and went to visit some friends in SOHO and Hoboken, and it about rattled my teeth out (the load range E tires did not help).

As far as your shocks go, it is king if a subjective warranty so it is likely they will cover it, as they cannot prove it is from abuse. More likely it would be from a defect in material. Many on hare have had these thing last through hundreds of hours of rough trail riding, so I don't think you will have an issue getting these warrantied.

I don't think this is uncommon on 5100s.... Not saying they all do but I have read about it before. You shouldn't have an issue getting it replaced.

LOL funny you should mention that..these 5100s gave up on the east bound belt parkway. How long does the warranty process usually take? I've ordered another 5100 already since i cant wait for a warranty replacement.

that was very close by me.. i live right of EXT 5 of the belt.. New Utrecht Ave

Same in North NJ. The roads are piss poor. The roads are so rough it makes me wonder if there is even a point in having them. The failing Bilstein's is a joke as well. I guess it was better than having them fail on the trail. I guess Bilstein quality has really declined compared to 10-15 years ago.

very true....roads are crap right now..

I travel back and forth on the PIP...and right now in it's current state of disrepair,it's very similar to some of the fire trails we took up in New Hampshire last fall....

just doing it at 70 mph as opposed to 3 mph

Quote of the month :)

I used to think the roads in the USA were SO much better than our roads in quebec, especially in the montreal region. Was a dream to roll on compared to where I live. But since a year or two, I find it degraded pretty much to nearly the same point of post-apocalyptic roads we have here. I wonder why? Related to the huge debt you guys have?

We recently built some fantastic roads...in Afghanistan & Iraq, and etc.
Good roads for the financial slaves "forget about it".
