O2 Sensor Replacement Help

1999 3.4 non-cali (one cat) re: pre cat sensor.

I ordered a denso o2 sensor from amazon. I received it and compared it to the one i pulled out and it has a longer tail and the sensor itself looks a bit different. Should I not install?

I realize now I got the one for the rear after-cat sensor, which i really don't care to change yet. question is: will it work as the pre-cat sensor?

Yes, it will. Proof of that is that universal sensor 234-4206 can be used in front or back. (Universal means only the sensor and wires; you use your existing plug.) On a '99 49-state, the only difference is wire length.

On a Cali. front and back are different.
