You mention it being a Black Diamond but in the link you provided, the guy who run it clearly says it is an easy blue.

Yeah, that was in 2006 I believe, they may not have regraded it recently. Dave Bentley with the USFS was pretty certain that its a black diamond.

How cool would that be? Might add some ruts into our nice green trails. I'm definitely hoping for lots of snow this winter.

This is forming up to be an EPIC meetup..... but I had plans to go up north to join Tepui Tent's Annual Fest the same weekend.... :sad:

We need to do another run another time.... how about a victorville to vegas in the middle of the night run? Or maybe run there during the day, and run back in the middle of the night?

Ah yes, I see it now...an aerial view of a convoy of dozens of 4Runners traversing the Mojave! A run like that would be great, but don't you need a modified rig for that?

For an undertanking like that, I'd want a mechanic and a medic in the group. 2 spare tires minimum, CB radio, recovery gear, water and fuel, extra engine fluids, and spare parts galore too.

But that's just how I think. I'm still waiting on my rear shocks and a Baja Rack (@jicko) before I can throw an additional spare up top.

I don't think you need a mod rig to run the "powerline road":

I think except "rally grade" GPS, and maybe a mechanic and a medic (and a guide), all others should be readily available.

You should have all that stuff already ..its no different than any other trail run. Your mechanic is all of usand your medic is our first aid kits.

its all day just runnin and taking in the views all while talkin sum smack over the comms while the lead is calling out dips,rocks,turns and etc. giving us the heads up. Tire blows or someone's got a vehicle problem/issue we all jump out handle the situation and off we go.

That's a possibility. Idyllwild Campground? What about the remote/primitive yellow post sites (Black Mountain, Thomas Mountain)?

Edit: Alternatively I might look into proper lodging. Smokey the Bear says "NO!" to all forms of campfires right now, even at the developed campgrounds. That kinda sucks. The place right up the street (Strawberry Creek Bunkhouse) could be sold really easily to my GF.

Updated the roster and attached a map for Indian Mountain at the bottom of the first post. We stand at 17 4Runners, not counting anyone bringing a friend. This will be a good time!
