Couple changes... we are not carving pumpkins this year. That was Antman's contest..... So we are doing two things this year. .....

We will be doing a "Where's Waldo" of sorts..... I will give out the final details at the Cove. I'm still coming up with a prize for this one.

Second, we will have a cooking contest on Saturday night after dinner..... you can form a team or enter singly. You will cook a dessert and make a drink in a 60 minure time limit.... but there's a hitch.... there will be a secret ingredient which will be announced the night of the cook-off..... there is a prize for the winning team.

Ok... I think that's it for now.

I will update this thread again as it gets closer.

Newbie 5th Gen from Philly

Sweet! I'm bringing down myself and my nephew in a 5th gen with the potential of an additional 4th gen. Will try to let you know as soon as possible. We'll be coming down early Saturday morning and heading out Sunday night. Count us in for the cooking/drink competition!

Also, did I read somewhere there's a potential parts sale/swap that could go on? Have some things that might be worth bringing down if this is happening. Pumped about this trip regardless! Never been on a 4Runner trip like this before.\!
 
I'll have 2-3 other vehicles with me as well.

Hey Corey!! Thanks for the invite. Me, Scott, and Antman are OG on this trip, so I'll have to make an appearance. If Jeff doesn't come, what will Jesse dog eat?

I typically only go Mon-Thus since the last time someone fired down range while we were setting up after everyone on the range acknowledged that it was going cold.

Sometimes there is an RSO on the weekends but there are also 8,000,000 people so it can get dicey.
 
I have to throw my two cents in! I'll of course be there with my new rig and the hubs [MENTION=137555]Sleeter[/MENTION]. Hopefully [MENTION=137555]Sleeter[/MENTION] lets me get in some driving this year! Kids are staying home with Grandma. Dogs going to a sitter. Weather last year got really chilly at night. We'll be set up cozy in our CVT RTT with annex room and a Mr. Buddy Heater. Party in my annex?! We totally just bought a new hot water camp shower. The Cove facilities are deplorable. See you soon old friends and new friends!

Still not 100% sure on my ability to beguile others into coming, but I certainly plan on making it.

Also on track to caravan from Powhatan/western Richmond area some time on Friday. I'll PM those that expressed interest some time next week to try to arrange something.

Intrigued by the prospect of a range. Haven't shot much of anything since my time in the Corps. With appropriate recompense in the form of beers and/or monies, would someone be willing to share a rifle?

If you have excellent muzzle awareness and bring your own 7.62x39, you can shoot my M70AB2 AK. Also, with the expense of a beer or 2. ;)

Do we have a general idea on who's doing what each day? Debating on bringing some rifles but if folks are going to be on the trails every day I might just stick to that.
 
I watched some of the videos of the trails, seems pretty muddy. What else do the trails offer? Do you split up in groups by difficulty? Never been on trails in VA.

I was planning on bringing my AR 15 and depending on how the range is I would thinking of shooting. I wouldn't have an issue sharing it with you. Also where in the western RVA pow area are you. I am as well from that region.
