Hi Svana, I'm in Sterling as well. What time is check-in at The Cove? I was planning on heading out bright and early (8, 9 AM).

If you have excellent muzzle awareness and bring your own 7.62x39, you can shoot my M70AB2 AK. Also, with the expense of a beer or 2.
Treat. Never. Keep. Keep.
Aside from a number of field ops with a M240B, and always on a bipod, I've never fired anything else that uses 7.62. My ass will be thoroughly on my ass after firing that thing.

According to the website, looks like the longest range is 100 yards.
I live in Raleigh. Just have a few of my sites for work in that area of Virginia. Not 100% sure where I'll be at that time, but likely either in Powhatan, Louisa or heading west from Smithfield. All depends on work schedules.

We will have a couple groups for trail runs set up. Friday and Sunday there are usually less people so everyone kind of does their own thing. I will be on trails probably each day.
Depends on the weather the weeks leading up... I've been there when it's really muddy and when it's been super dry and dusty. You can expect rocks, roots, logs down, and some of the trails are super tight.
Typically we will split into groups by difficulty. There will be several guys (and gals) there with experience, so don't be afraid to ask.
I plan to be there around 9am Friday. I believe someone will be there at the office as early as 8am.
There is no power. Camp is in a bank of trees, so solar will be spotty at best.

A few things....
Looks like the weather is holding, but it will be chilly, average 43-44 degrees overnight, with daytime temps in the 60s. Hopefully this holds. Plan for the overnight... if you'll be on an air mattress I HIGHLY suggest you have a foam pad between you and the ground (ask me how I know). Those cheap mattress toppers work well.
Shawn and Scott of GT Peace are doing hamburgers and hot dogs Saturday night... bring a side to share with everyone. Doesn't have to be huge since there will be a lot of people attending. Shawn also had a bunch of t-Shirts made up and coozies from last year as well.
Breakfast will be covered one morning. Tom from Outbound Overland spoke with Mountain House freeze dried meals and they are providing 60 breakfast meals for those coming to the Cove. I've had the Mountain house meals and they are really good!
CONTESTS:
Cooking contest... Saturday night we will hold a cooking contest (1 dessert and 1 drink). Contestants will have 60 minutes to make their dessert and drink. The secret ingredient will be announced at the Cove. There are prizes!
Where's Waldo.... I am keeping this mostly a secret until everyone gets to the Cove. I do have decent prizes for first and second place.
Ok.... I think that's it...

If the Cove changes our location (camp 2 currently) I will post up the change here.
Once I get to the Cove I will not have service on my phone... so post up here if you have a problem and I know a few people will be checking the thread.

No idea, this is gonna be my first time going. I'm planning on leaving around 12-1 so I'll probably be checking in at 2ish. Hoping that's early enough to get a decent spot. Where abouts in Sterling are you? I live around Sterling blvd and 7, I'm sure we've passed each other at some point.

You can confirm at any time. It's mostly to keep a count for the Cove staff.
