I wouldn't think i would have to replace struts right now all though the truck is a 98 and has 74k on it... This is my first truck/SUV so obviously the suspension is way different than the cars I have mostly driven. Maybe its just the way it is but when i am driving in town and hit any kind of bumps or hickups in the pavement I just get an awful rubber band-ish feeling in the steering wheel. Maybe to much play some where? if it helps I have stock 16's with 265/70 at 30-32 psi.
Odd suspension feeling?

mine is a little hoppy, "drives like a truck" is the first thing I said when I took it home a year ago. It ain't a caddy. The LC setup in the rear is supposed to be very plush, almost too much if you remove the sway, but you can use front end links and still run the rear sway, to keep the lateral stiffness in turns.
The TRD front is a bit stiff from what I have read. I'm going 5100 on stock springs (5th perch) for now. I can get OME or TRDs later if I want more lift.
Check your rack bushings/guide and tie rod ends. Ball joints too. Lift the front and pull on everything. If it has play, it likely needs replaced. I'm sure the shocks on all four corners could stand to be replaced, too. Even with low miles, time wears on things too.
