the truck is clean man, no wear on seats, carpet, etc. there re signs of wear but nothing indicating 206k miles worth of wear. under side is clean as well.

To me, the only way milage can be reported on carfax is if it was at the dealer for service or repair.

it also gets reported at time of registration renewal or emissions inspection. At least it does here.

What's the issue? If it runs good and is clean who cares what the odometer reads... I understand stuff will be more likely to break because it has more use, but you are modifying and upgrading it anyways. There's plenty of Toyotas with 200+k and no issues, and they don't even come on forums and meticulously pick the perfect oil or do anything out of the ordinary to keep it going at that mileage.

I don't place much faith in carfax as the dealers have not always put down the correct mileage on my vehicles in the past. Most recently is my Chevy S10, the dealer put down it had 20,000 miles more that it did. This being said I ran a carfax on my 4Runner when i bought it and it said it had almost 28,000 more miles on it than the odometer said i asked the owner and he bought it at auction from the city of Gainesville, GA. They owned it for 4 years and i don't see the government representing the mileage wrong without putting exempt on the title.

No need for a lawyer. In VA at least, that's a criminal offense. It's fraud and forgery of public documents. All felonies at this level. I would contact your local police and see what they say.

Can I ask you something? I mean, I feel for you, but IMO, it's the buyers responsibility to make sure the vehicle is as described. It's YOUR money, YOU'RE taking the risk in buying a previously owned car, so why wouldn't you hold yourself responsible for making the mistake of not looking into the vehicle enough?

every time it was serviced, mileage was recorded. even when i took it into the dealer for trans service, it was recorded and states "mileage inconsistent with previous".
