The dedicated amplifier definitely helps a lot. I ran the system with just the amp in to test things, and everything already sounded much better. Can't wait for the front speakers to get here, so i have my complete package.

I saw the system over the weekend at TE Motorsports and it sounds amazing. It is really crisp and clear. The Rep., Cary, confirmed they already have a secondary sub with a dedicated amp built, but would need to have enough interest for them to do a production run and is something that could be added on in the future.
Their 4runner on display actually had the sub built on the right had side of the cargo area. It covered their outlets but had enough room between the box and outlets for you to access them.
SOOOOOOOO everyone needs to start calling and harassing them for a secondary sub. XD

Finally got my gf to leave me alone long enough tonight, to tonight the install. Took about an hour and a half to run the sub umbilical cord, run the wires to the head unit, and run the power wire. All in all, it probably took me about 3-4 hours. Knowing how it all comes apart, and having all the necessary tools ready to go, and weather in the 70s, I could probably do it in about 2 hours of o had to do it again. I didn't really get to listen to it too much, cause my dog was going crazy and my gf started *****ing. Review of the sound will come tomorrow.
Oh, I too, had the issue with the power wire. If you cut a slit in the loom, you can pull the wire out of there. You just need to slip it out of that top zip tie first.

Exactly ... ease of install, no modifications to vehicle, and so far everyone who I have read that has installed it said it sounds great and they all seem happy. No desire to be window-rattling going down the road.

Sure ... I have been doing and reading about car mods for a long time, and SOME people are honest. They certainly have more credibility than the people who have never even heard the darn thing and decide it's "overpriced" or whatnot.

Absolutely. Honestly, when I first heard about the kit and saw the pics, I thought it was a little cheesy and didn't expect much from it. When I finally saw it in action at Toyotafest in Long Beach and sat in their Demo 4runner, I was sold. When I finished the install last night and listened to some songs, I knew I made the right choice.
I think it is a good point but if that is the case it really taints what this forum is all about... the sharing the good, the bad and the ugly on all products we consume for our 4runner. In my short time here I have learned a ton from you all and find most our fairly straight forward about the products. Admittedly I am a over the top researcher and while opinions here are taken into consideration I also look at other forums and resources to make the best buying decision I can. So keep the comments coming please!
Originally, I was looking at just dropping in the component Focal's from Crutchfield ... but several people who did it said "Don't bother" ... better but not for that much money. Others were thrilled. Sound is like food - it's very subjective.

only 1 piece of criticism complaining about how this is insanely overpriced for what we get. I mean he owns a TRD PRO, which i believe is insanely overpriced for what i get.
To each their own. This sound system was definitely a nice upgrade for the price. Easy to install, and has a factory looking sub
Some stealth sub enclosures are pretty damn expensive on their own!

DIY would be cheap, but not everyone wants that effort to achieve the effect.
Happy with my OEM + Audio system in my TRD PRO.
Think the Rear hatch and rear passenger coaxial speakers are great! Definitely worth the extra price over the basic oem+ setup. Replaces what used to be a dinky midwoofer?
