OEM Fog Light wiring

I've been looking left and right and I just can't seem to find an answer to this question.

I have an early model SR5 that came without fog lights. I recently purchased from a member of this forum a set of OEM Fog lights.

Things I do not have:
-A relay
-A switch
-A wiring going from relay to switch

Things That I think I have:
After having read a thread stating that the wiring at the fog light juncture was present and went and verified and it is in fact there. But where does it go? to the relay? how to I wire this puppy up? Do I have to run all new wires from the fogs, to the relay, to the switch?

Any help at all on this would be terrific...Also wondering if anyone has the part numbers for the items I am looking for?(refer to things I dont have)

You have 2 options to wire these. Retrofit the stock switch and relay or go non-stock with a simple switch and relay. The stock method may be expensive because you need to replace the whole steering column headlight stalk (maybe you can get one from a scrap dealer?)

That looks like quite a bit of wiring...

If I where to go non stock where would I start the circuit?

That is, there is current wiring coming from the fogs to where?? do I have to start from the fogs? or can I use the existing wiring?

the wires running from the fog lights must go to some place in the engine bay yes?

Do they go to the fuse box?

I tried to sign up for tis and access the service manuals but I am canadian and it is not authorizing my credit card. I even tried a virtual card and no go for some reason stupid site.

I dont feel like tracing the wires but If there is no diagram anywhere I guess I have no choice!

Just got the fog lights and now have the relay. Relay not installed yet. ? Can I make this work with an FJ or Tacoma switch that fits in our blanks, are there wires under the dash that would connect to this switch? Or is there a way to make them work using one of the fog light mod techniques? What would happen if I did the parking light/fog light mod with no switch?

I realize this is an old thread, perhaps I can solicit some new input.

I just bought a '97 Limited front bumper (complete with OEM Hella fog lights) to put on my '96 SR5.

Questions: (With no electrical/wiring experience)

How can I wire them, preferably with audible alarm when left on and door is open?

Not worried about wiring into original headlight stalk, dash or console-mounted switch from Big Box Auto is just fine.

Wiring harness?

You need the relay (take one of the light blue ones and buy a similar one). I got a 20A one, but I think the oem is 15A.
Then, on the bottom of the steering column there is a connector (the one conected to the headlight switch), look for the pin numbers, you got to hook on the pin 11 and 10. I didn't cut the cables, just used a scotchlok on them (don't join the pin 11 and 10, just extend those wires).
Joining the cables at pin 10 and 11 will turn on the fog lights
Now, connect this two wires into a switch and you are done.

I would recommend disconnecting the negative of the battery while doing this procedure, as you will be working near the airbag.

Thanks. I figured mine as well. I bought a relay and fog light assembly. The wiring was already there. I did the auto headlight mod so had to buy a different stalk with fog light switch. It all worked as as if it came from the factory.
