I am running Costco batteries in 2 cars - when the T4R battery dies, it will get a Costco battery. FYI....the warranty is 3 yrs full replacement with a total of 100 months (8+ yrs) prorated. I had one test bad several weeks ago after 50 months (4+ yrs) - I took it back and they put 50% of the original purchase price back on my Am Ex card. No questions - they did not test the battery. I bought another. The price, however, had increased from ~$55 to $75 over those four years. Buckaroo

What I'm saying is everyone should upgrade their batt neg to chassis wire to 4 G.
As far as not knowing how to do it, that is why I said find a friend who knows car audio. Its a $30 and 30 min fix. At least on a 96-02 4Runner.

It is too bad we cannot get the OEM Panasonic Battery over here in the US. My buddy in Australia though can get an OEM Panasonic replacement in his Prado so go figure.
I still stand behind my recommendation of the Die Hard Platinum; yet with the way Sears's balance sheet looked for the past year I can't see them being in business by 2020 unless something drastic changes.
With all the amperage flowing through the charging circuit, with time, the wires build up resistance. At the age of these 4runners it isn't a bad idea to upgrade the wires.

Costco(Kirkland)batteries / Interstate Batteries are exactly the same company- Johnson Controls.
The Costco batteries come directly from Interstate Batteries on an Interstate Battery truck. They consistently get very good reviews for exceptional value and durability.

Holy crap! I just looked at the factory ground wire and it looks like 10-12 gauge at best. Would just adding a piggy back 8 gauge wire help out at least? I have plenty of that and some solder connections that will fit.
