OEM wiper blades went bad already?

I got an OEM set in March and they are already making the noise. I thought OEMs are better than other brand. Any recommendations for a set that lasts a bit longer?

I used glass cleaners ( invisible glass) and waxing shampoos. Could that be the cause?

Windex (ammonia based). I'm sure regular old dish soap should help too.

Rain-X - no need for wipers I change my assembly annually just to keep them working their best.

Upgrade to silicone. They last for years. I use PIAA brand. In 2016 I put a set on my Tacoma. I just sold it. Same blades. Still working perfectly. We use our wipers 9 months of the year around here.

Depends where you live. I bought the vehicle in Florida and never needed to change the blades.

Then I moved to Colorado and Wyoming and I had to change them every 4 to 6 months depending on how much ice they saw.

Here in sunny California I haven’t had to change them in over a year.

Where are you live, what type of conditions they see, what temperatures they see, and how you use them and where you drive is going to affect they are lifespan.

I will say, the worst thing you can do to them is start them up if they are frozen to the windshield.

Clay Magic to get the wax off the windshield. Use Nu Finish on the glass if you want, it's a polish not a wax. Replace wipers annually, heat destroys them. It's worse in Texas but Maryland is probably pretty hot during the summer too.

OEM wipers are garbage, I replaced mine with Bosch Icons within a month of buying the truck

Dawn dish soap.

I find the Rain-X fluid also makes them chatter on a few of my vehicles.
Even when the blades are only a month old.
