Of Tundras and 4Runners...just picked up my '16 Trail.

So after a two-year hiatus, and after many adventures with my TRD Pro Tundra, I elected to trade her in on another 4Runner, which better suits my needs as a daily driver and only vehicle.

I originally began negotiating a deal for a yet-to-be allocated '17 Cement 4Runner TRD Pro, but with no real time frame for availability and strict MSRP pricing, I started looking at some '16 Trail Premium rigs that were actually on the ground in the region.

Pueblo Toyota made me a ridiculous deal on the Trail and gave me all kinds of money on the trade for my Tundra, which compelled me to pick this up instead of waiting and spending A LOT more money on the Cement rig. I had them add the TRD wheels with 275/70 K02s and the lift / leveling kit, along with the new all-weather mats (which are WAY better than the last version), crossbars and cargo cover.

Overall, I'm super happy with the deal and the new rig, and glad to be back in a 4Runner. More mods are coming this month, I'll post more pics as I get to working on it.

The Tundra was awesome in a lot of ways, but the 4Runner is sort of like Goldilocks...just right.

Do consider them in the future, I was super impressed.

They KILLED IT at every aspect of the deal, and beat Pedersen (who I have bought several vehicles from) by over $2k.

It was well worth the drive down there.

Technically nothing with the way I negotiated all the extras, but I think it was around $475 with the alignment before we started haggling. I'm not sure if that's competitive or not.

It's the RevTek 432 kit w/ new rear schocks that a lot of dealers are using. I'm very pleased with the stance and the ride, it's perfect.

I'm also very pleased that everything installed is covered under the factory warranty.

In the unlikely event there was a problem when traveling, other dealers would not have to cover parts affected by the modifications.

Great looking 4R! I just got a 16 Trail in the same color. I got it from Boulder Toyota and got a decent deal, but never considered going somewhere like Pueblo.

I'll have my Toytec Boss kit, LC UCA's and 285 BFG's installed in a couple of weeks. I'm not to far from you in Broomfield off 36. Looking forward to exploring later in spring/summer with other local T4R's!

In the unlikely event there was a problem when traveling, other dealers would not have to cover parts affected by the modifications.

I thought about that, and it seems reasonable that might be the case, but since I've seen this exact lift utilized at many different dealers, I feel pretty good about it.

I don't anticipate any parts failing anyway, at least not in the few years I'll own it.

Absolutely! There are a TON of fantastic day trips in the region, we should do that for sure.

Man, that's one nice looking 4Runner. Any ballpark idea what they charged you for the TRD wheels with 275/70 K02s?

I too have been looking at getting a '17 TRD in cement...but can't get over paying MSRP and the challenge of actually getting one. May have to go this same route you did.

The wheels, tires, center caps were around $1600 total with mount / balance, etc. Thanks!

It's dark, but yes, it goes all the way across, over the hump.
