Whaaaaaat!!!!???? I've been waiting for so long now. When does the "season" start now? About time this crap is over.

I've always liked the Stars but I jump around on who I go for every year lol I really don't care I just want to watch hockey. I usually figure out what team I want to win when I see who's in the playoffs.

Edit: quoted from this article http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2013/01/06/tentative-deal-in-place-to-end-nhl-lockout/

Bettman has previously said a regular-season schedule of at least 48 games must begin by Jan. 19. The existing 2012-13 NHL schedule has already been canceled through Jan. 14.

For me, its all about the Blues. I really believed last year we could have taken it all, if we could have gotten past L.A.
I'm glad they were able to salvage about half the season and it should be interesting with only inter-conference play. And, as long as we get the same type of goaltending as last year, I think the Blues have a good chance at going deep into the PO's

GO BLUES!!!

Can’t say I’m a huge hockey fan but I’m glad the season is on again. These players work all their life to play a handful of seasons and I would hate to see that denied. And it’s great for all the people that make a living in the area of the game when the home team is in town and it’s nice to be able to watch athletes playing at the level these guys do. Go Bruins!

Canucks are my favorite, of course. Can't wait for the season to start and can't wait to see what happens with Luongo!
This is great not just for the fans but for the businesses in 'hockey towns' that depend on the revenue.

Thank god its back:

New York Islanders and the Vancouver Canucks are my teams.

Canuckleheads are one of the teams I'm bound to hate as a St. Louisain. Then again, if I hated every team that's knocked us out of the POs, there'd be no one else to like.
EDIT: My other teams are Minnesotta & Colorado

Luongo is an overpaid choke artist that vanishes in the POs & I can't stand the Sedin sisters. But, dam can they pass & Kesler is a beast!
I think the NYI were part of the problem that caused this most recent lock-out. See 13 yr contract to DiPietro and new arena. And, Tavares has always struck me as a cocky SOB, like Phil Kessel. But I think he's been humbled a bit and he's getting better. That said, I have always been a huge fan of Doug Weight.

Good luck with Boyes. Can you say one dimensional player? He's is a complete defensive liability and will drive you crazy as he lets opposing forwards skate right past him.

I used to be a huge Sonics fan, but with losing the team and HOW we lost it, I've lost most interest in the NBA. IF IF IF we get a team back, that means David Stern gets his way. He didn't lift a finger when they were going to leave because he wanted an arena here that had more luxury boxes. Now if a new arena is built, he'll have his cake and eat it too. A team in OKC with a super nice arena and then a team back in Seattle in a brand new state of the art facility.

What does that have to do with hockey? Well, what I am excited about is that if this area is built, the odds of us getting an NHL team goes up significantly! The thought of that makes my hands sweat!

Seattle Metropolitans - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

otherwise i root for the old teams, like the bruins or the wings...though one time when i was a kid i got meet gretzky and luc robitaille when my team skated at the intermission of a kings/canucks game, that was pretty cool!

I hate basketball, but have been open to a team coming to St. Louis purely for the revenue sharing that would help my Blues.

Our arena has hosted other events, like high school basketball tournaments, and it always seems like the ice is sloppy that night since they didn't have a full 24 for it to freeze. Anyone in cities with both NHL & NBA teams have any experience with that?

Yup agreed on all accounts! You would of thought the Islanders learned their lesson with Alexi Yashin and his 10 year contract blunder, but nope they went and did it again with the porcelain doll DiPietro. Its a shame the Isles are a laughing stock and NO ONE wants to come here and play, its pretty embarrassing. They think a move to Brooklyn is going to save them, doubt it. Many Islander fans are from L.I. Who the hell wants to shlep into Brooklyn on a train to see them when we all had the convienience of just a 30 min drive into Nassau County, and they couldnt sell out there either. The Nassau Collisium is a real outdated dump and I dont blame players for not wanting to come either. I have some great memories in that place, and Im glad I got to take my son to see them play there also (he like the Cauncks too just likes dad) and I try to get there when Vancouver comes to town. But christ its time to knock it down and start again.
I started loving the Cancucks in 1991 back in the days of Linden (always my favorite and I was elated when he came here), Ronning, Bure, Lumme, Courtnall, Nedved, Diduck (ex-islander) and another favorite McLeane. In 1994 it was me (and now my wife) vs 25 of my Ranger fan friends during the Stanley Cup Finals. There I am sitting with all my Canuck garb on, amongst all Ranger Fans who knew I was also an Islander fan....that didnt go over to well when the Rangers won the cup, I was pummeled by all my friends that night. But It sure was a great series, and its memories like that that make me watch it night in and night out. Thank god for the NHL network too, I havent watch a day of Sports Center (except on Monday mornings for the football scores and highlights) because all it is, is 1 or 2 hockey highlights then they just throw the NHL scores up, then I have to sit through a million sh1tty Bascketball dunks, three pointers, scores and highlights, AND I HATE BASKETBALL. Only to have them post up the remaining 4-5 NHL scores at the end of the show...ITS SUCH B/S that station. I also have been playing ice hockey since 1989/90 and still play to this day 1-2 times a week, there is no other game like it.

While I am happy hockey is back, this sure did put a damper on the season. I am sure this will happen again in 8-10 years.

Let's go Rangers- I am still looking at what games to buy tickets for!

Couple new additions for the Canucks in the last few days with Cam Barker and Jim Vandermeer. Could work out well. Can never have enough defencemen.

Huge hockey fan...... Huge Devils fan....... normally......

I'm sitting out this 201X/2013 season. The lockout absolutely infuriated me.

I'll watch in October when the 2013/14 season starts.

Honestly? What sense does that make? You're not hurting the NHL or sending a message to anyone. You're just depriving yourself of the best game on Earth. I'd think you'd be in, with the Devils cup run last year.
Don't get me wrong, the lock out infuriated me too, but I have no control over what Buttman or the owners do. As soon as I heard hockey was back, I was in. I won't be going to the games or giving the my money, but I'll certainly watch the games that are on the cable I already pay for.
