I had some grief getting mine balanced correctly on my 16x8's (they're still not all that great). I don't think it had anything to do with the wheel though. I think it had everything to do with people not knowing what they're doing with such a large tire. I wouldn't recommend getting tires balanced by shops who typically see dinky tires all day. Go to a shop that mounts large tires or an offroad shop. Better yet, go to the shop that has a road force balance machine. You'll pay more but fight tire balance issues a lot less leading to very happy tire wear and longer lasting tires.

Oh and I've gotten down to about 5 psi before with no issues.

I agree with this. Most of the shops around me like Discount Tire, Merchants, etc. always have a hard time mounting and balancing my friends bigger tires.

I always go to a local shop by me that charges $89 for a one time alignment, but it is worth it. They claim to use the, "Hunter HawkEye Elite" alignment machine and can mount and balance any tire up to 44".

Every time I replace steering/suspension parts and get it aligned by them, it is night and day. I've had Firestone try to align me, they can't do it. Same with Merchants and DT. No more will I go to anyone else. Some shops forget to even center the steering wheel prior to alignment.

I've even gotten straight tires back from DT and the steering wheel is blatantly facing the passenger at straight-aways. I've had to bring it back twice on 1 alignment.

just an eye-candy shot. 35x12.50x16 maxxis creepy crawlers. have 3" lift plus 1" body lift. needed 1/4" spacers in front to clear the tundra calipers. not keeping them, just rolling around on them for now. but I think I like this size:smokin:

Hey guys I am going to be joining the club soon :guitar3: but i have a question on back spacing.

So whats a good backspacing to keep my stock ucas from chewing my tires??
I have a set of wheels with 4.5bs and 285s and the uca is pretty close. My other option would be to get wheel spacers 1.25? and use the stock 5 spoke wheels.

any input?

i don't rub UCA with my wheels, 3.5 BS my inner edge is flush with the dust shield lol

Good god does it look good. I just went to 285's but when I go 315's, I'll be doing something like he did.

Also, maybe talk to crazydubman or check out his build thread. I don't think he's running 35's but I remember he made some posts about the extensive fender clearancing he's done in preparation for 35's or bigger.

35's are still in the future but I'm about to build a bumper and I don't like building a 2nd bumper if I do a body lift later. I already have the 1" lift just not a huge fan of the body lift look.

There seems to be a lot of people who clear 35's no problem with a 1" body lift. You should be fine at that.
