The one I'd want would be 63K, that's a 50 percent increase in the MSRP of a TRD Pro. Not sure how that's equal to TWO 4Runners.

4Runner MSRP starts at like 34-35K..... 63K is "almost two 4runners".
Not to mention, even a 50% increase is pretty damn significant.

You're going from the BASELINE price. Okay, I'm talking about one with all the bells and whistles. But if you want to split hairs.
TRD Pro: 42-43K
Raptor: starts at 49K - fully loaded about 60K
If we want to factor in dealer markup the TRD pros can be way higher than that. I paid MSRP for mine.
Since some exaggeration has been lost on you, I should edit my initial post.
You can buy 1.5 TRD PRO 4Runners for the price of one Raptor when both are fully spec-ed.*
It's also worth noting, I thought this discussion was forum wide. Not just a comparison of your truck and your spec-ed out Raptor. I think a 80-90% increase, is close enough to warrant saying you can almost get two for the price of one.

Ok, so you just don't like the 4runner anymore. If I had spent the money you did only to have it outperformed by mostly stock vehicles, I would be upset too.
But the mods you added to yours were not for desert race/pre run type performance.
Ford has dominated the go fast off road market since the introduction of the Raptor.
Toyota has dominated the general use off road market for, awhile.
If you want a factory vehicle that can go fast off road, the Raptor is the best bet.
If you want a general use vehicle that can also go fast off road, some mods to a 4runner will allow that.
A very different set of mods than you did to yours, but mods none the less. Namely larger shocks and tires.

I'm not telling you guys to buy a raptor, I'm just laughing at the idea of people thinking their 4Runner is in the same league as vehicles that are more modern.
Toyota's vehicles aren't as reliable as people claim. My needs changed. I want to go faster and have a truck.

I would never argue that the two vehicles are even in the same class (saw the same argument about Mustang GT's vs Corvette Z06 - as a Mustang guy, I know it's not supposed to outperform a Corvette, but if I can mod one to outperform a Z06, that's awesome).
However, there are almost no true SUVs anymore, so you could *kind of* say the TRD Pro is the "Raptor of the SUV World". If you're like the only SUV on the market, you can say whatever you want.
I thought this was supposed to just be a discussion about the two platforms... I haven't been following any drama that may or may not be going on.
But real talk, you have one of the nicest 4Runners out there. Outside of that, no one gives a shit what you do with your money.

Has anyone actually said that? I don't think anyone could rationally compare the 4R and Raptor, mods or no, and logically say the 4R is in the same league.
At the end of the day everyone should have the vehicle that meets their needs with the lest amount of tinkering. I've been waiting to for Toyota to update the 4R for a few years now, but it is looking more and more like we're going to get an undersized engine with a jerky transmission...
Raptor is a sweet truck. Enjoy it. Post Pics.

This whole thing is silly. Both the 4Runner and Raptor are awesome (opinion) and capable (fact) vehicles.
