Hey Bay Area 3rd Gen Brothers, the stormy California weather seems to be mostly past us now so [MENTION=102606]infamousRNR[/MENTION] (Sean) and I figured it was time for a another meet-up to wrench, shoot the shit, eat BBQ and drink beer, not necessarily in that order.

Our idea is we could decide on 3 people's rigs to work on, 1 in the garage and 2 in the driveway. If your rig isn't one of the ones we're working on, you can lend a hand with whichever sick mod or repair you have knowledge about or are interested in.

This will be a Pot Luck / BYOB. I will take care of providing the meat for smoking and grilling, just bring a side dish or dessert and your favorite beverage to share with the rest of your brothers or sisters in case there's a local gal who'd like to join the party.

Date: Saturday, May 13th
Time: 9am until whenever

The More the Merrier. If you're a local 3rd Gen 4runner Owner or Other Gen 4runner Owner, or if you just like Toyotas, or whatever, You're Welcome.

Figured I'd throw this out on the SFO Bay area thread. Does anyone have a decent P265/70R16 tire that needs a home? I have a full size spare but the tire in there is really crappy. I'd like to get a halfway decent one on there as a good road trip spare. Thanks!

I was planning on rolling through. Also - was wondering if there is still an open space in the driveway for wrenching on my truck? I desperately need to install some new front UCA's because I have a failed bushing. It's long overdue as my truck has been lifted for a few years so it's time to run some SPC/LR adjustable UCA's to bring my alignment back into spec. Unfortunately I Live in SF and park on the street, so I have no where to work on my truck.

We've had some jobs mentioned but I don't know what's concrete or not.

For you or anyone reading this thinking about doing some work at the meet-up, you have to be the lead on your own repair/mod unless you have somebody coming with you that's going to take the lead. Sean and I are going to be willing to help but we're not looking to spend the whole time working on somebody's rig. We'd rather hang out and help people out when they need it. Others showing up will most likely help out too. What I'm trying to say is don't show up and think somebody is going to do the repair for you while you recline back and sip on a beer.

I have lots of tools and anyone showing up is welcome to borrow what they need. The important thing is I get my tools back after you're done using them.

So yeah, you can install your UCAs at the meet-up. Realize you'll need an alignment after installing these. We could probably get you close enough so it doesn't drive too bad until you can get to an alignment shop but getting an alignment right after the job would be preferable. I just don't know if there's many alignment shops open on Saturdays.

Well looks like I'm out. Wife has wedding dress shopping with her friend so I've got the kids that day. Would bring them but it would be tough with the 9 month old. Just have to see you guys on the trails.

I plan to make it by as well Tim. I'll be showing off my Dirtco inspired sleeper mod. I'm putting it to use for the first time the weekend prior on a wheeling weekend so I'll be able to comment on my experience with it by then.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

You really need to move closer to Bishop. I'm sure I'd have a blast hanging and wrenching with you gents. Maybe some time this summer you guys can head out this way for a wheeling weekend. Trail repairs are always way more fun than garage repairs. lol

I use to be up your way all the time in my mountain biking racing days in the late 80's to late 90's. I must have raced the Norba National race at Mammoth Mtn at least 8 times. I've also passed by Bishop on my way to Lone Pine a few different times to hike up Mt Whitney. I plan on doing a backpacking trip somewhere in the Sierras this summer. If I'm going to end up in your neck of the woods, I'll let you know and maybe we could hang out, talk trucks and drink some beers. And, you're always welcome to stop by the Timmy the Toolman garage if you happen to find yourself slumming it in the Bay Area.
